d) 1956 On 23rd October 1946, a new airline named Orient Airways Ltd. was established by Mr. M.A. Ispahani on instructions from father of nation Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Later on, Government of Pakistan decided to form a state owned airline and invited Orient Airways to merge with it. The result of this merger was the birth of new airline, through PIAC Ordinance 1955 on January 10, 1955. So Pakistan International Airlines was established in 1955.
