Kashmiris celebrate Azad Jammu and Kashmir independence day on 24th October every year. During freedom struggle in 1947, Kashmiris were able to regain about 13297 square kilometer area. This area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has its own independent government and it was 24th October 1947 when they declared their freedom. They established a government set up moreover made a decision that this region will be used for freedom base camp.
