Pakistani athletes presented outstanding performances and won two gold medals at Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Nooh Dastagir won it in weightlifting, whereas Arshad Nadeem won gold medal in javelin throw competition. Next Commonwealth games will be played at Victoria, Australia in 2026. Remember Australia is the country which hosted commonwealth games maximum times.Total of 5054 athletes participated in 20 sports and 280 events. Australia was at top, while England and Canada stood second and third respectively.

Pakistani Medal Winners 

Weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt won first gold medal for Pakistan by lifting a record 405kg weight. Shah Hussain won bronze medal in judo. Arshad Nadeem broke 24 years old record of commonwealth games by throwing javelin 90.18 meter. Muhammad Inam Butt, Sharif Tahir and Zaman Anwer won silver medals, whereas Shah Hussain, Inayat Ullah and Ali Asad won bronze medals for Pakistan. Pakistani nation paid rich tributes to young athletes who have earned good name for Pakistan during recently concluded Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. There is a strong hope that Pakistan will further improve its position in points table during Victoria Commonwealth Games 2026. It seems diversification of sports is coming in Pakistan and now they look beyond cricket as well.
