The United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948. This was a historic step towards recognition of human rights beyond limits of race, religion and gender. Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is the first positive step towards even greater landmarks in human history. Its first article clearly states that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
